CROCC would like to thank everyone who participated and made Race Around the Island (RATI) a huge success. It was a fantastic day filled with the sense of Ohana and belonging.

2014 RATI Results

As always we would like to thank the safety boat captains and crews, the Clark County and Multnomah Sheriff River Patrols that kept a ever watching eye on the paddlers as they competed. Mahalo to the hula dancers and Auntie Deva from Ke Kukui Foundation for providing us with a wonderful opening ceremony. Also a special thanks to Tim, Roxanne, and Auntie Jeanne for officiating and keeping things in order. Additionally we would like to thank Kendal Sparks for designing the RATI t-shirt

Race Around the Island (RATI) Distance Race: 2014

CROCC is looking forward to hosting clubs from PNWORCA at RATI on May 31, 2014 at Chinook Landing Marine Park in Fairview Oregon. There will be 8-10 mile Long course and a 4-6 mile Short course that is open to all divisions. An opening ceremony will be provided by Ke Kukui Foundation. A free continental breakfast with coffee and water will be offered to all who attend, and selling a BBQ lunch plate for $10.00 as a fundraiser.

The lunch menu consists of the following:
–BBQ Salmon
–Grilled Mushrooms
–Asian Style Slaw
–Hawaiian Style Mac Salad

Rusty Iron Distance Race: 2014 – Results

Ho‘omaika‘i ‘Ana (Congratulations!) to the three crews that represent CROCC at Rusty Iron! It was a wonderful day out there and everyone all did great job out there!!

A big mahalo to Pacific Outrigger Canoe Club for a wonderful day out at Frenchmen’s bar. Rusty Iron is always a great time to reconnect with our larger paddling Ohana from PNWORCA as it is the first OC6 race of the year.

Pacific Northwest Outrigger Challenge

On August 24th CROCC will be represented at Pacific Northwest Outrigger Challenge hosted by Sail Sand Point OCC and Kikaha O Ke Kai OCC by two paddlers who will be joining up with other teams.  This race has an optional 18 mile Iron/Beach change or 26 mile 9-man Changeout race on Lake Washington. 18 mile course is a beach/land changeout course for paddlers not comfortable doing water changes. (no escort boat needed) 26 mile 9-man course is from Sand Point Beach Park around Mercer Island and back (escort boat needed).

If you are in the Seattle area and want to come out and cheer on the crews.

Da Grind

On August 3, 2013 CROCC will competing in Da Grind Distance Race hosted by Seattle Outrigger Canoe Club at Alki Beach.  We will be entering in a mixed crew and two paddlers will be assisting our host club’s novice men’s crew.  This race will be approximately 12 miles long and run from Alki Beach, west to Blake Island, circling the island counter-clockwise, and returning to Alki Beach.

If your are in the Seattle area come on out cheer the crews!!
