Remember everyone is welcome to join us for an open paddle practice.
Just one of the many stories that have come out of the Gorge race. It is a great read and gives you a good idea about the race. Mahalo to Rhonda Bintliff of Portland, OR for sharing her point of view!
What a great time out at Ester Short park with the folks from Ke Kukui Foundation and the wonderful folks who came to visit and ask questions. Thanks to all the crew that showed up and supported CROCC in this event. We had a great response from the public and were able to bring back a lot of memories with Po’ Anuenue.

Come join us at Three days of Aloha on July 26 and 27, hosted by Ke Kekukui Foundation at Ester Short park in Vancouver. We will have Po Anuenue on Saturday the 27th and enjoying the culture of Hawaii.
What a race! I keep thinking to myself, “WOW, there was some WICKED water out there!” The mighty Columbia once again reminded us not to take her for granted and humbled a great many teams. Quite a few of the team never finished the race due to the morning conditions. It was definitely a character-building race and a reminder to respect the water. Thankfully it’s was a beautiful day in the gorge, with big water and an unscheduled swim for several crews. Over 1/3 of the crews never finished the race, ours included.
Mahalo to JD adn David Chun along wth all the other escort boats out there keeping us safe. The race wouldn’t happen without them!
Cheers to all of the paddlers that were out there! I can’t wait to hear your individual stories that come out of it!!
Mahalo to Mel Ponder Photography for a great many photos like the one above.
On July 20, 2013 CROCC will competing in the Gorge Distance Race hosted by Waterwalker at Stevenson Washington. We will have a Mixed crew paddling in the 10 mile course and one paddler joining with Kikaha crew. Come on out, this is a great race and is fun watch.
On April 27, 2013 CROCC will competing in the Rooster Rock Distance Race hosted by Mountain Home Outrigger Canoe Club. We will be entering a mixed crew who will paddle the 10.5 mile course in the scenic mouth of the Columbia River Gorge. Come one out to Rooster Rock State Park, bring a picnic, and cheer on the paddlers.
Mahalo to everyone who participated in Race Around the Island (RATI), including (but not limited to): padders from around the northwest, hula dancers and opening ceremony from Ke Kukui Foundation, chase boat captains and crews, race officials, raffle prize diners, spectators, park rangers (who understood that those bottles were full of root beer)… What a fantastic day!
CROCC is looking forward to hosting clubs from PNWORCA at RATI on June 1, 2013 at Chinook Landgin Marine Park in Fairview Oregon.
